Weather Related School Closure or Delay
The two (2) entities that have the authority to initiate school closure for New Vision Charter School (NVCS) are Thompson School District (TSD) office and NVCS, which is initiated by the Executive Director.
SCHOOL CLOSURE BY TSD - If TSD initiates a school closure for all schools in the district, New Vision will also be closed.
DELAYED START BY TSD - If TSD initiates a delayed start for all the schools in the district, New Vision will also follow a delayed start.
Notice of an emergency school closing (whether before school starting time or during school hours) is communicated by TSD officials to radio stations, to Denver television stations and posted on the Thompson School District website (Thompson School District), and through the TSD School Closure Line, 970-613-6788.
SCHOOL CLOSURE & DELAYED START BY NEW VISION CHARTER SCHOOL - The NVCS Executive Director has the authority to close New Vision Charter School (even if TSD remains open) if deemed necessary regarding the safety and welfare of the students and staff. This includes initiating a delayed start or early release. Staff and households will be notified by 6 am by text and email if school closure or a delayed start is initiated for New Vision. Information will be posted on our website and our Facebook page.
