Welcome to New Vision Charter School's Frequently Asked Questions page! Choosing the right school for your child is critical to ensuring that their future is as bright and as fulfilled as possible. If you have additional questions or need further assistance, please don't hesitate to contact us.

  • Charter schools are public schools of choice. They are tuition-free and financed the same way as other public schools. Governed locally by parents, citizens, and educators, charter schools are free to be innovative in their design and are highly accountable to the community. Charter school students are subject to the same standardized tests found in the Thompson School District.

  • Applications will be accepted for all grades kindergarten through 8th.

    • At New Vision Charter School, we proudly implement the Core Knowledge Curriculum, a research-based approach that builds a solid foundation of knowledge for all students.
    • Foreign language for all students – New Vision Charter School recognizes the importance of fluency in more than one language and that research has shown that it is much easier to gain fluency in a second language during the elementary years than in later years.
    • Character training – Every student will receive age-appropriate, non-religious, character education. Major topics will include personal responsibility, accountability, respect for others, respect for the community, and citizenship.

  • Public charter schools are funded using the same per pupil funding as non-charter public schools within the school district.

  • New Vision Charter School is a tuition-free school of choice, however, students are still subject to the Student Material Fee for each school year.

  • We are located at 299 Peridot Ave, Loveland, CO 80537

  • New Vision Charter School students are not required to wear a school uniform, however, a dress code is enforced to preserve the integrity of the educational environment.

    • 7:05am – 7:50am: Student Drop Off
    • 7:30am – 7:50am: Student Breakfast (optional)
    • 7:50am: FIRST BELL
    • 8:00am: TARDY BELL
    • 3:15pm: Dismissal
    • 3:15pm – 3:50pm Afternoon Pick-Up

  • Yes! Athletics are available for Middle School students (grades 6-8). Programs offered include volleyball, boys and girls soccer, boys and girls basketball, cross country, and track.

  • You can do a couple of things as a parent to get involved. There are many opportunities for parent involvement right now. We have several committees that need dedicated people to serve on them. If you are interested in volunteering at New Vision please take a moment to fill out our online volunteer form.

  • There will be approximately 23 students in each kindergarten class, 27 in grades 1-8. It is the goal of NVCS to maintain these class sizes.

  • We have a maximum of 115 open seats to fill for full-day kindergarten. We do not have half-day kindergarten.

  • Once enrolled at NVCS, you do not need to apply again. Your student will remain enrolled until they go into high school. You will need to complete an Annual Family Check-in (AFC) every year. The AFC is available from February through September.

  • Yes, Intent to Enroll forms must be submitted annually. Students' names are not retained for subsequent years.

  • Yes, you can submit an Intent to Enroll application and the student will be added to the bottom of the established waiting list.
